Relocation support services for families in the Netherlands

Arriving with children turns one move into several at once: a rental a Dutch landlord will actually agree to, a school with a place in the right year, the gemeente appointment, the BSN, the 30% ruling, and a huisarts who will take the whole family on. The nine consultants listed here do some or all of that, most of them specifically for families rather than for single transferees. All nine work in English and two in Dutch, and six work with you online and by phone, which is what you need while you are still abroad. Coverage runs across Amsterdam, Amstelveen, Haarlem, Utrecht and Diemen.

Common questions

Answered from what is actually listed on this page, not from a template.

Do relocation consultants work with you before you arrive?

That is rather the point. Six of the nine listed work online and by phone, so rental shortlists, school enquiries and paperwork can start months before your flight. Several will attend viewings on your behalf and send video walk-throughs while you are still in another country.

Can a relocation agent help find a school place?

School search is one of the most common family add-ons, and several listings here name it explicitly, covering both Dutch state schools and international schools. In Amsterdam and several other Dutch cities, primary places are allocated through a central matching system with fixed application moments, so timing matters more than persistence — which is exactly what a consultant who knows the calendar is for.

What does relocation support cost?

Published starting prices on this page run from about €90 for a single consultation or hourly advice to around €1,750 for a full package covering home search, registration and settling in. Most consultants quote per service, so ask for a written breakdown of what a package contains before you sign anything.
