Adem is not born yet, but he gets to be on earth for a while, as an advance on his life. He is an 11-year-old boy in a fictional Eastern European city full of corruption and danger, and he has to bring his future parents together. He wants a real life.
The performance is at Theater De Krakeling, Nieuwe Passeerdersstraat 1 in Amsterdam, on 30 October 2026 at 19:30. The set is made of miniatures, with video projections and music written for the show by Gábor Tarján. Monique Corvers directs.
Het Filiaal theatermakers performs with live music, movement, video, puppets, objects and language, and there is as much for adults to enjoy as for children. The story comes from Tjibbe Veldkamp’s book, which won the Nienke van Hichtum prize in 2023 and, in 2024, the Woutertje Pieterse prize, a Zilveren Griffel and Beste Groninger Boek (fiction). Veldkamp is also known for the Agent en Boef series.
