Het verhaal van Prinsesje Reutemeteut is a cheeky performance with funny, recognizable songs about mess. It is set in the Palace of spic and span, the cleanest palace you have ever seen, where all 348 rooms are spotless. All except one bedroom, the far less tidy stink hole of Princess Reutemeteut. The big question at the end: how do you deal with the mess in your head, the mess around you and the mess of your child?
The text is by Bas van de Ven, Cristel van Kuik and Suus Hoppenbrouwers, with Bas van de Ven directing, Suus Hoppenbrouwers performing, scenography by Cristel van Kuik and music by Bas van de Ven and Lennert Klaui. Theaterkrant’s Pluk Eva van der Weerd wrote that Hoppenbrouwers switches seemingly effortlessly from a stately queen to a plain Amsterdam toasted sandwich, and keeps both adult and young visitors with her.
