The Story of Little Princess Reutemeteut and the Uncontrollable Wirwar

This kids theater show tells the story of Princess Reutemeteut. It features funny and recognizable songs about mess. The story is set in the Palace of Spic and Span, the cleanest palace you’ve ever seen. All 348 rooms are spotless, with no speck of dust. Well, almost none. There is one bedroom in the whole palace that is slightly less tidy, the disgusting stinkhole of Princess Reutemeteut. The big question is how you deal with the mess in your head, the mess around you, and your child’s mess.

Theaterkrant’s Pluk Eva van der Weerd wrote that Suus Hoppenbrouwers shines in playing various characters with sharp comic timing. She switches seemingly effortlessly from a stately queen to a flat Amsterdam tosti. She keeps both adult and young visitors engaged with her high tempo and density of jokes. For a performance where cheerful chaos can arise, for example in a sock fight with the audience, it is admirable how she always holds the attention of even the youngest viewers.
