SUPERMENS gezocht

At Theater De Krakeling, Nieuwe Passeerdersstraat 1, 1016 XP Amsterdam, the theatre show SUPERMENS gezocht tells the story of Chelsey. She is kind, helps others, and follows the rules. Her sister Luca is bossy, thinks only of herself, and makes the rules. The show asks how you can be kind to others and to yourself.

Chelsey is nervous. It is her first school day in a new class, and she plays shop with her classmates. She tries to do everything they want, following their rules, being kind and helpful to fit in. But it goes wrong. Her big sister comes to the rescue, or makes things worse. The play is loosely based on ‘The Good Person of Szechwan’ by Bertolt Brecht, about a girl with a shop who cannot set boundaries. She gives everything away for free and nearly goes bankrupt, until her tough alter ego takes charge and demands everything back. She gets her shop back but loses her friends.

SUPERMENS gezocht is described as rousing musical theatre about caring for yourself and others at the same time. It asks why it is so hard to say no, or whether we all always need a big sister. The show is on 25 October 2026 at 14:30. It is suitable for ages 6 and up. The performance is also accessible for people with a visual impairment. A blind interpreter from Komt Het Zien! describes what is happening during the show, and before the performance gives extra explanation about the set and costumes at a special meet & feel introduction.
