STIK follows two teenagers who feel left out. They meet during detention and find they share more than they thought. The show uses drum computers and synthesizers, with strong beats carrying you into the lives of the two teenagers. It is about the feeling that you do not fit in, that you do not recognise yourself in others, and about the discovery that many more people understand nothing about life. It is also about the courage to reach out to each other when you want to give up, because the other person may be more like you than you thought.
One teenager feels everyone at school knows what to do except her. Her head is busy and she feels so much at once. She has become good at nodding and putting on a listening face so no one notices. The other seems to find everything easy at school, and everyone finds him funny and nice. Then he loses one of his parents. From one day to the next everything is different. It feels like a big monster is inside him, but he cannot put it into words and no one else understands or sees it. The monster hurts and has something to do with missing someone.
The performance plays in a converted truck trailer. The truck travels to secondary schools and theatres. This theatertruck is at Westergasterrein near De Krakeling. The intimacy of the theatertruck creates a special theatre experience. The performance starts at 19:30 on 11 November 2026 at Theater De Krakeling.
