Sports clinics, camps & active days for kids in the Netherlands

For the days when what is needed is not a museum but a hall with a high ceiling. This page collects the dated active sessions, in sports halls from Amsterdam to Duivendrecht and beyond: football clinics in the club tradition the Netherlands is rather famous for, racket camps at the indoor courts, trampoline and freerunning sessions for children who have started climbing the furniture, and taster days that let a child try a sport before anyone commits to a season. Most are indoors, which makes them reliable in Dutch weather. Multi-day holiday camps have their own page, linked below.

Good to know

Do children need experience or their own kit?

Almost never. These are taster clinics and open sessions rather than club training, so they are built for children who have not done it before, and equipment — rackets, balls, safety gear — is normally provided. Bring indoor shoes, something comfortable and a water bottle. Where a session genuinely expects a particular level or a piece of kit, the organiser says so on the booking page.

Are these only during the school holidays?

A good share of them are, because that is when clubs and halls run clinics. But weekly and weekend sessions appear here year-round too. If what you actually want is several consecutive days with lunch included, that is a camp rather than an event — Holiday camps has its own page with dates, prices and venues, and it is linked from the filter bar.

Where do they take place?

Mostly in indoor sports halls and stadium complexes — the ring of sports facilities on Amsterdam’s southern and eastern edges, out towards Duivendrecht, is where a lot of this happens at the moment. Each listing shows the venue and the town, so a session in Duivendrecht is never quietly filed as Amsterdam. Use the map view if the journey is the deciding factor.
