Nieuwe Noten Amsterdam is a contemporary music concert series by Plein Theater, presenting new compositions by leading musicians. This edition features INVITES, the fourth performance by the duo Sounds Like Juggling (composer Arthur Wagenaar and juggler Guido van Hout). It is a juggling concert that blends music juggling with the musical traditions of three guest musicians from three continents: Jalli Lamin Kuyateh on kora from the West African griot tradition, a percussionist who grew up with Caribbean rhythms and studied in the Netherlands and Cuba, and a balfolk enthusiast.
The show is a festive ode to encounter, exploring the question: ‘What is your world, and how do we build something new together?’ The audience is invited to dance, jump, cheer, applaud, throw and sing along.
Good to know: Plein Theater is at Sajetplein 39, 1091 DB Amsterdam.
