Conductor Maarten Bos and guitarist Tijmen de Koning do the leading and the room does the singing at Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. The evening is built on Taylor Swift’s music, with one song at its centre: The Fate of Ophelia, which everyone learns to sing in three parts.
Maarten and Tijmen write a multi-part version of a pop song and rehearse it with everyone who is there.
On arrival you get the lyrics on paper. You don’t need to read music and no experience is needed. You stand with the voice group you prefer, sing a few songs in unison first, then learn the main song in three parts. A video is made of the end result.
Good to know: When you order your ticket you say which voice group you prefer.
