Halloween-themed theatre workshop for children aged five to seven, run by Amsterdam Kids Drama & Dance at OT301 on Overtoom. Sessions run on Saturdays from 12:30 to 14:00, with arrival at 12:20.
Children explore storytelling through drama games, improvisation, mime and movement. Each workshop is led by two artist-teachers, with attention to both individual work and group activities. There is no pressure to do anything a child is not ready for, and shyness is not a problem. The group has a track record of helping kids become more self-assured. Being able to concentrate and take part matters, and kids who are often distracted may find the group is not right for them at this stage.
Classes are LGBT+ family friendly and celebrate all nationalities and cultural backgrounds. If your child is or may be neurodivergent, contact the organisers, who can help you decide whether the group suits them. The studio is currently not accessible for wheelchair users or others who cannot use stairs. The workshops are in English, so your child needs to understand and speak enough English to take part comfortably.
Good to know: A place is €25, or €19 for families with income at bijstand level or a second child in the same workshop, in which case you contact the organisers.
