Vicky McLachlan photographs families in Amsterdam and Haarlem in a natural, unposed way. Sessions usually begin at your home and carry on with a short walk, or you can meet her in the city centre or out at the Bloemendaal beach and dunes. She has been a professional photographer since 2014, moved over from South Africa nine years ago, and works in English. Newborn sessions happen at home; she also covers maternity and photographs families of up to six people.

How long until we get our photos?

Your online gallery arrives two to three weeks after a family, newborn or maternity session (one week after a lifestyle mini session). Once you have picked your favourites and paid the balance, the high-resolution files come through by download link about a week later. A fine art album takes another two weeks after you approve the design.

What does a family session cost and what is included?

Family, newborn and maternity sessions start at 479 euro including VAT for a one-hour on-location shoot with 30 high and web resolution images in a downloadable online gallery. Larger packages add more images, a longer shoot and a 30x30cm fine art album. There is also a shorter lifestyle mini session in Haarlem or Amsterdam from 225 euro.

When should we book a newborn or maternity shoot?

For sleepy newborn photos she suggests six to twelve days old, though any time up to twelve weeks works well if you want more of your baby's personality. Maternity sessions sit best between 32 and 36 weeks, and she asks you to get in touch by the end of your second trimester so there is still space in her calendar.
