Sim Sawyers photographs families, pregnancies and newborns around Amsterdam — canal walks in the Jordaan, blossom season in the Amsterdamse Bos, or quiet mornings at home with a new baby. Newborn sessions run at your house or in her studio and are baby-led, with no time limit and pauses for feeding. Family sessions are led by the children, and she does not charge extra for grandparents or siblings. Every booking comes with a styling guide and access to her client closet. She works in English.

When should we book and hold the newborn session?

Get in touch around 20 weeks pregnant to secure a spot. She aims to photograph babies at one to three weeks old, though older newborns are very welcome too.

How long does a newborn session take?

There is no time limit. Newborn sessions generally run two to three hours because they stop whenever the baby needs feeding or settling.

Can siblings and grandparents join the family shoot?

Yes — she does not charge extra for more family members, and older siblings get solo shots and play prompts during the session.
