Gastouderbureau 4Kids
Gastouderbureau matching Amsterdam families with childminders
About
4Kids is a gastouderbureau (childminder agency) that matches Amsterdam families with registered gastouders across Centrum, Noord, Oost, West, Zuid, Nieuw-West, Zuidoost and Weesp. Care happens at the childminder’s home or at yours, with a maximum of six children at a time, so your child sees the same familiar face every day. Every childminder is listed in the Landelijk Register Kinderopvang and inspected by the GGD, and Amsterdam families get a dedicated local coordinator, Connie, who visits the care addresses. You can browse childminder profiles without signing up. Site in Dutch.

Frequently asked
How many children may one childminder look after at the same time?
A maximum of six at once — that limit comes from the Wet Kinderopvang and applies to every gastouder in the Netherlands.
What does a childminder in Amsterdam cost?
You pay the childminder's hourly rate, which averages between €7.45 and €9.00 per child per hour, plus a fixed monthly fee to 4Kids for matching, coaching and administration. Most of it is eligible for kinderopvangtoeslag.
Can a grandparent or relative become our registered childminder?
Yes. If they register as a gastouder through 4Kids they receive payment for the care hours and you can still claim childcare allowance, provided they meet the requirements including the right diploma. 4Kids also offers a short training course.
