AltaDent Clinic
English-speaking dentist with children's dentistry
About
A dental clinic in Amsterdam Nieuw-West that sees the whole family in one place and works in English as well as Dutch, Spanish and Turkish. Their children’s dentistry page describes a deliberately unhurried first visit: the child looks around, sits in the chair and watches before anything is done, with a parent alongside. They treat children up to 18 for check-ups and routine work, and will schedule siblings back to back so one trip covers everyone. Open weekdays, with direct billing to Dutch insurers.

Insurance & costs
Dental care for under-18s is covered by the basisverzekering with no eigen risico; braces and aligners need supplementary insurance.
Frequently asked
What will our child's check-up cost?
The clinic explains that dental care for children under 18 falls under the Dutch basic insurance, so routine check-ups and standard treatment are generally covered with nothing to pay. Orthodontics is separate and needs its own approval.
What happens at a first appointment for a nervous child?
The first visit is about getting comfortable rather than treatment. Children have a look around, sit in the chair and watch what happens before any procedure, and parents can stay with them.
Can we bring more than one child at once?
Yes. When you register, say how many children you have and their ages and they will schedule the appointments one after another so the whole visit is shorter.
