Drawing, painting and scavenger hunting at the Van Gogh

From 10 to 18 October 2026 the Van Gogh Museum has family activities for the autumn holiday. Children and young people up to 18 get in free.

In the painting workshop, from age 8, you make a personal painting of shoes, like Vincent van Gogh did. At the drawing cart you can grab pencil and paper and get drawing assignments from an artist. No experience is needed. In the studio there are pencils, paper and drawing assignments ready, such as drawing Van Gogh’s sunflowers or sketching the coffee pot from The Potato Eaters.

For children up to 6 years there is a Family corner with coloring pages and reading books. Choose one of three scavenger hunts: children aged 4 to 6 search for hidden rabbits and learn about Vincent’s work; from age 6 you go as a real Van Gogh specialist; and from age 12 you discover the most famous works of Van Gogh with a checklist.

Good to know: No experience is needed for the drawing activities.
