Kids aged 9 to 12 who live in Oost, Noord, Zuidoost, West, Weesp or Nieuw-West can take part in the Amsterdam Museumkamp. It runs during the autumn holiday from 12 to 16 October. They work with an artist for a whole week in their own district.
The theme for 2026 is ‘maken’ (making). The children experiment with all kinds of techniques and art forms, from fashion and photography to collage and performance. There is space to try new things and shape their own ideas. Making is not only about making something with your hands. It is also a way to look differently at the world and discover your own place in it. Together with the artist and other children, they work all week on their own artwork.
The Amsterdam Museumkamp is part of the ELJA Kindermuseumlab. The children make art and also think along about the development of a real children’s museum. Their ideas and creations get a place in a bigger whole.
