Football Birthday Parties for Kids: Clubs & Venues Across NL

Football is the party theme that never gets a “meh” from the guest list. Every kid already knows the rules, nobody needs a costume, and half the country’s stadiums have built an entire business around hosting kids’ birthdays on their own pitch. A football birthday party can mean anything from a scavenger hunt through a real Eredivisie dressing room to an hour of five-a-side in a sports hall down the road, and the right pick depends more on budget and travel time than anything else.

We pulled together the clubs and indoor venues that actually run football birthday parties, checked what each one includes, and organised it by city so you’re not stuck cross-referencing five different booking sites. Start with whichever club your kid already supports, that’s usually the easiest sell.

Amsterdam: Ajax at the Johan Cruijff ArenA

Ajax runs a dedicated kids’ tour at the Johan Cruijff ArenA for ages 5 to 12, bookable for groups of 10 or 15 including supervision, at €30 per person. Over two hours, the group walks through the players’ tunnel onto the pitch, sits in the actual dugout, plays on the kids’ field next to the main pitch, records a mock interview in the mixed zone, and gets a look at the trophies in the Gallery of Fame. The birthday child takes home a small Ajax gift. Tours run Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at set time slots, and it’s worth checking the schedule around home matches since the dressing room isn’t always accessible then. Book through the ArenA’s own ticketing site.

If a full stadium morning feels like overkill, Amsterdam also has a cluster of indoor five-a-side venues built specifically around parties rather than tours. Powerleague Amsterdam runs kids’ football parties with free parking and its own indoor pitches, and Indoor Soccer Events, also in Amsterdam, lets you pick the date, headcount and format online, including a bubble-football option for kids who’d rather bounce off each other than actually play. Sport4Kidz operates across several Amsterdam sports centres too, including Sportcentrum Universum and Sportcentrum Marnix, so there’s usually one within reach of most neighbourhoods. None of these need a football-mad kid to work, the coaches build games around whoever shows up.

Rotterdam: Feyenoord at De Kuip

Feyenoord’s version at De Kuip leans into a scavenger hunt format. Kids get a lanyard, a pen and a booklet of questions and spend about two and a half hours hunting through the stadium, standing pitch-side, sitting in the press room’s head coach chair, and finishing with a visit to the Feyenoord Museum. It costs €18.50 per child and includes a drink, a snack, and a discount coupon for the fan shop, and the birthday child gets a gift. If they happen to be a Junior Kameraadje member, their own ticket is free. Parties run Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and need to be booked directly by phone or email rather than online.

For something less museum, more match, ICHIEVE FC in Rotterdam runs interactive indoor football parties with small games and 1v1 panna battles, open from age 6 and bookable from six kids upward.

Eindhoven: PSV’s Phoxy and PSV Parties

PSV splits its Philips Stadion party by age. The Phoxy Party is built for kids up to 6, with mascot Phoxy leading a treasure hunt through the ground, while the PSV Party for age 7 and up sends kids on a mission to collect letters that reveal a surprise for the birthday child. Both start with a PSV muffin and a drink, include a backstage look at the dressing room and pitch, a chance to kick a ball on the stadium turf, a photo with Phoxy, and a gift, and run about two and a half hours. It’s €25 per person, or €22.50 for Phoxy Club and FC PSV members, with a minimum of 10 paying guests and an extra €7.50 if there’s more than one birthday child in the group. Parties run Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, but not in June when the stadium is booked for other events.

Eindhoven also has Joga Bonito, an indoor football school with a glow-football party option, matches played with glow gear and club lighting that turns the hall into something closer to a small nightclub than a training session. It’s been running kids’ parties at its own indoor venue since 2017.

Utrecht: Watch a Real FC Utrecht Match

FC Utrecht takes a different approach entirely, its birthday packages centre on an actual home match rather than a private tour. The standard Wedstrijdfeestje is €199 and includes seven match tickets, Junior Tigers goodie bags, snacks and drinks, a congratulations message on the stadium screens, and time in the Tiger House under the South Stand before kickoff. The XL version (€225) has the birthday child join the pre-match flag parade, and the XXL (€249) has them walk out onto the pitch with the players. Extra tickets run €20 for kids and €25 for adults, up to five more. It’s a genuinely different kind of party, real crowd noise, real match tension, and a birthday message that shows up on the big screen in front of thousands of people.

For a quieter, standalone option in the region, FC Utrecht also runs a straightforward stadium tour aimed at kids, about 70 minutes for €8 per person with a minimum of 10, no match ticket required.

Alkmaar and the Rest of the Country

AZ Alkmaar runs its own children’s tour of the AFAS Stadion, open to kids up to 12. The group sits in the trainer’s chair in the press room, stands in the dugout, takes photos with the trophies in the boardroom, and gets a turn behind the stadium announcer’s microphone, working through a quiz booklet along the way that earns a certificate for anyone who finishes it. Tours are bookable for groups of 10 or more via email or phone, and it fits well if you’re already in Noord-Holland north of Amsterdam.

Outside the big-club stadiums, De Voetbalschool operates as a nationwide chain with locations across most provinces, from Groningen to Zeeland, and runs birthday sessions from age 5 with a real coach mixing actual technique drills with game formats, at €10 per child for the first hour. In Den Haag, Voetbalschool KICK runs a similar setup at V.V. Verburch for €13.50 per person with a minimum of eight kids, and can move the party indoors for an extra fee if the weather turns.

Picking the Right Football Birthday Party for Your Kid

If your child has a favourite club, that decides most of it, a die-hard Ajax fan is going to remember the ArenA tunnel long after the cake is gone. For younger kids or a first football party, the local training-school format (De Voetbalschool, Voetbalschool KICK, Sport4Kidz) tends to work better than a full stadium programme, it’s shorter, cheaper, and built around actual play rather than a guided walk. Save the stadium tours for kids around 6 and up who can sit through two hours of walking and explaining without losing interest halfway through the press room.

A few practical notes before you book: most stadium parties need a minimum headcount, usually 10, so confirm your guest list before you pay a deposit. Party days are fixed at every club, so if your kid’s birthday falls on the wrong day of the week you’ll be celebrating a few days early or late. And check what’s included in the price versus what’s an add-on, several of these venues charge extra for an indoor hall on rainy days, or for going beyond the base time slot.

Any of these make for a solid football birthday party without much planning on your end, the club or school handles the running around. Once you’ve settled on the venue, our guide to kids birthday party venues in Amsterdam has more themes beyond football if you’re planning a few parties this year, and the roundup of birthday party providers in and around Amsterdam covers entertainers and at-home options for the years football doesn’t win the vote.
