The Van Gogh Museum has a family programme during the autumn holiday, from 10 to 18 October 2026. Children and young people up to 18 have free entry.
In the painting workshop, from 8 years, you paint shoes the way Vincent van Gogh did. You make a personal painting of shoes and show who they belong to. At the drawing cart you can pick up pencil and paper and get drawing assignments from an artist. No experience is needed. In the studio there are pencils, paper and drawing assignments ready. You can draw Van Gogh’s sunflowers or sketch the coffee pot from The Potato Eaters. For children up to 6 there is a Family Corner with colouring pages and reading books.
There are three treasure hunts to choose from. Children aged 4 to 6 search for hidden rabbits and learn about Vincent’s work. From 6 years you go out as a real Van Gogh specialist. From 12 years you use a checklist to find the most famous works of Van Gogh.
Good to know: Children and young people up to 18 have free entry.
