Explore the unique wonders of science with The Science Camp
Do you have a little scientist in the making? Or perhaps you’re looking for activities for your child to spark their interest in science? The Science Camp’s Programs here in Amsterdam may be for you!
The Science Camp has been operating since 2017. The founder, Linda, studied social work and is passionate about teaching. With her experience of working in the disability sector and working with children, she founded The Science Camp to ensure science is accessible and enjoyable for all children.
The programs are designed to encourage children to ask questions, make discoveries, and develop a love for science that will last a lifetime. This is also a great opportunity for children to make friends with others that have shared interests and build their self-esteem through team building group activities.
All of the programs are facilitated by teachers in English and are created by a scientist to provide activities that are suitable for children in groups 1-8 (ages 5 to 10). There are 3 main programs which include; After School Programs, Birthday Parties and Holiday Camps, which we have broken down for you.
After School Program
Science as an after-school program provides a great opportunity for kids to continue learning and exploring scientific concepts after their regular school day has ended. This program goes for 1 hour and is fun, interactive, and educational. They even offer coding programs too! They are already in several schools in Amsterdam and constantly expanding, so the easiest way to enquire is to call or email them to find out if they already offer programs in your school.
Birthday Parties
An original idea for a birthday party! You may not have thought to mix science with a birthday party but be prepared for the children to all be wowed by cool experiments and still get to enjoy all the fun with birthday cake time, snacks and playing. There can be up to 10 children for 3 hours and include a minimum of 3 experiments and 1 teacher at their location in De Pijp. If you are looking for a custom location, you can also discuss with them.
Holiday Camps
The Holiday Camps are offered throughout the year during the school holiday periods, often having children from all over Amsterdam attend. At camp, they will get to participate in hands-on activities that they are able to take home to share and will be raving about camp weeks to come! Camp runs from 9am- 3pm for a week, however you can book in for individual days too.
