SILK Advocaten & Mediators
Family law, divorce mediation and inheritance law
About
A boutique Amsterdam Oud-Zuid firm doing three things only: family law, divorce mediation and inheritance law. For parents that means divorce, dividing a marital home and assets, settling a prenuptial or cohabitation agreement, child maintenance and partner alimony, and the harder questions such as one parent wanting to relocate with the children after a separation, or a divorce that crosses borders. All four lawyers are vFAS members, the site runs fully in English, and hourly rates are published up front.

Frequently asked
What do you charge?
Hourly rates run from EUR 255 to EUR 300 excluding VAT, depending on the lawyer's years of experience and the nature of the case. You are told the rate and expected scope at the start and get a monthly invoice itemising hours and disbursements. They do not take subsidised legal aid cases.
Can we separate without ending up in court?
Mediation is one of the firm's three core areas. The mediators guide you and your ex-partner towards agreements you reach together rather than a contested procedure, which tends to matter most where children are involved.
One of us wants to move with the children after the separation. Where do we stand?
This is a listed area of expertise. The lawyers advise the parent who wants to relocate with the children and the parent who wants to oppose it, and they also handle divorces with an international element.
Where is the office and is it easy to get to?
De Lairessestraat 158 in Amsterdam Oud-Zuid. The Emmastraat bus stop is directly opposite, a two-minute walk, and street parking is usually available nearby at EUR 6.50 per hour, seven days a week.
Where
De Lairessestraat 158, 1075 HM Amsterdam, The Netherlands
