Frequently asked
How many days of kraamzorg will I actually get?
They provide eight days of maternity care, which can be extended to ten if there are complications. Care starts on the day your baby is born, and any days you spend in hospital come off that total. The daily hours follow the national LIP indication protocol, roughly three to four hours a day for basic care and six for average care.
Can I get a maternity nurse who speaks English?
Yes - their team includes maternity nurses who speak several languages besides Dutch, among them English, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish and Arabic.
Will the same person come every day?
That is their aim: one consistent maternity caregiver for the whole postnatal period. If circumstances force a change they handle the handover and the information transfer within the team themselves.
