Kinderpraktijk Amsterdam
Psychology practice for children, teens and parents
About
A psychology practice for children and young people from 0 to 18 and their parents, with two Amsterdam locations (De Pijp and the Rivierenbuurt) and a sister practice in Haarlem. Families come for anxiety, low mood, OCD and tics, behaviour and ADHD, autism, and the fallout of a separation. From age five children can have individual therapy, always combined with parent guidance, and psychological assessment is available. Treatment is in Dutch; a doctor’s referral is needed for municipal funding, and self-paying clients are also taken.

Frequently asked
From what age can my child come?
They work with children and young people from 0 to 18. For children under five there is a pre-intake to check whether this practice is the right fit or whether a specialised infant mental health service would suit better. From age five a child can have individual therapy, always alongside parent guidance.
Do I need a referral?
A referral from a doctor or the Ouder- en Kindteam is required to qualify for municipal funding. Without one you can still come as a self-paying client.
How long is the wait?
The site states a waiting time of roughly three to four months, and about four months for psychological assessment (last updated 06-07-2026 on their site).
