About

Cara is a speech-language therapist, originally from South Africa and in the Netherlands since 2021, working in English with children and families in Amstelveen, Uithoorn and the surrounding Amstelland area. She has around six years of experience, with autism and early intervention as her main areas, plus training in Gestalt Language Processing (including AAC) and orofacial myofunctional therapy. Parents are coached to keep the work going at home. Sessions happen at her practice, at your home or online, with all rates published up front.

What will it cost and will insurance pay?

Speech and language therapy is covered by all Dutch basic health insurers, but because this is an uncontracted practice the reimbursement is typically 60-100% depending on your policy. All rates are published and discussed before treatment starts.

Can my child be seen at home?

Yes. Alongside sessions at the practice there are separate published rates for screening, intake and individual sessions carried out at your home, as well as for online sessions.

Do you work with bilingual families?

Yes. All services and treatment materials are provided in English, and the practice is set up for the international community in the Amstelland area, with orofacial myofunctional therapy also available in Dutch.
