Desi is an IBCLC lactation consultant and a midwife, and she comes to you at home across Amsterdam, Zaandam, Landsmeer, Oostzaan and Waterland. A home visit runs about 90 minutes: she watches a feed, examines you and your baby, and sends a written summary afterwards, with a phone follow-up a few days later. If a visit is not needed there are video consults and short phone consults instead. She works in Dutch or English, replies the same day on weekdays, and teaches breastfeeding classes in Amsterdam Noord.

What happens during a home visit?
It takes about 90 minutes. She watches your baby feed and examines both of you, then sends a written summary with extra tips on giving breast milk, and calls you a few days later to see how things are going.
What do consultations cost, and will my insurance pay?
A home visit is 150 euro, a video consult is 100 euro and a 15-minute phone consult is 30 euro. She points parents to zorgwijzer.nl to check whether their supplementary insurance reimburses lactation consultancy.
Can we do it remotely if a visit is not practical?
Yes. A remote consult by video call takes about an hour; you record specific feeding moments beforehand and watch the footage together. You still get a written summary and a phone follow-up. Sometimes a short phone call is enough and you can decide later whether more help is needed.
